Nearly two months ago, Charles Krauthammer wrote an editorial predicting that President Obama's administration would try to enact a Value Added Tax as a way of getting more money to fund expanded government.

What to do, what to do?

President Ronald Reagan's philosophy was to starve the government, thereby forcing it to shrink. President Obama's is the exact opposite. Enlarge government, then find ways to feed it through taxes. The VAT is the desired revenue stream. As a
replacement for income tax, it's not a bad idea. However, to feed the liberals policies, it would be
on top of income tax.

He suggests that we get ready to pay it, or start fighting against it. I vote for the latter!
